Making Planters from Candle Containers
I decided to kick off the blog by explaining how I repurpose my succulent candle containers into planters. There are a few different ways to go about it, so I'll just go into the way that I think is easiest. There are a few tools you'll need, but altogether it’s a pretty simple project!
You will need:
Power drill
Masonry drill bit
Spray bottle with water
Something to break up wax
You want to start off by getting all remaining wax out of the container. You can put the container in the freezer for an hour, then use an old butter knife or something similar to break up the wax. Just make sure not to use a utensil that you still plan to use for food items. Remove all wax and the wick clip from the container. Then soak the container in water for about an hour. Once soaked, flip the container upside down and drill into the center using the masonry bit. Make sure to spray the area with water every few minutes, until finally boring a hole through the bottom. Then plant your seeds and enjoy 😊
